How does smart heating work?
A smart heating system lets you control the temperature in your home remotely. It works with your heat pump to make your home more energy-efficient and comfortable.
There are three main parts to smart heating:
A smart thermostat lets you change your home’s temperature from anywhere. It learns when you’re home or away and keeps your house at the perfect temperature. Scheduling lets you pre-set temperatures, so the system adjusts automatically to your routine, lowering the temperature when you leave and warming it up before you return.
Smart radiator valves let you set different temperatures in each room. They work with your heat pump to keep your home cosy while saving energy.
Geofencing technology knows when you’re home or not by tracking location from your smartphone. It automatically lowers the temperature when you’re out and warms up the house when you’re in.
You can control these smart devices from your phone and use them to control your Ground Source heat pump or Air Source heat pump.

What do smart heating devices look like and where will they fit in your house?
A smart thermostat is a small device that hangs on the wall, ideally in your living room or hallway. It looks like a small tablet with a screen that lets you control the temperature.
Smart radiator valves replace regular valves on your radiator, usually at the bottom. They’re a bit bigger than a normal valve and have a small screen that shows the temperature.
You can’t see geofencing technology in your home but it does connect to your smartphone.
