The offer is managed entirely by Hull & East Yorkshire Credit Union, and you will need to go through their standard assessment process and comply with their terms and conditions for taking out a loan.
The loans are available for amounts up to £20,000 over a period of up to 10 years, with interest rates from as low as 6.5% APR*. These can be used to finance energy-saving measures such as solar panels, battery storage, insulation, heat pumps, and more, as well as in conjunction other improvements being made to the home. This offer is available to residents and workers within York. We are also working to identify similar financial options to ensure more homeowners can access funding to retrofit their homes. How to apply
Interest is charged on the reducing balance of the loan, meaning the faster you repay, the less interest you pay overall. There are no penalties for settling the loan early. The loan is unsecured which means that you do not need to put up any assets (such as your home) as security.
